Coming to Mounted ARI in Spring 2023 is a very exciting multi-discipline creative arts initiative featuring visual arts, creative writing and music. We invite you to create an artwork for this exhibition.
World renowned Sound Producer and Engineer, Peter Cobbin, has composed a piece of music for this creative arts project and participating creatives will use this musical composition as a stimulus to make work.
All created works must / will be inspired by or in direct response to the music of LUFT composed by Peter Cobbin.
What are we looking for?
Completed artworks will be displayed in the gallery for the whole duration of the exhibition.
We welcome all forms of visual art including but not limited to paintings, printmaking, sculpture etc., or if you have another idea, please let us know. We would appreciate you advising us of the likely form, including physical dimensions, your work will take when you register your interest. Space within the gallery is limited so please contact us if you have concerns or questions.
(Fiction submissions must be no more than 4 x A5 pages (shorter is fine), or absolute maximum 1000 words.
Poems – no more than 2 x A5 pages or maximum of 60 lines including line breaks.
(If you are submitting a poem, consider how it will sit on a page that size.)
The anthology will be available for sale, not only during this exhibition, but also at further Mounted ARI exhibitions in the future. Although we retain copyright of the overall anthology, you retain original copyright to your piece and are, of course, welcome to republish it elsewhere (although we would appreciate a credit).
As we are not a commercial gallery we do not handle sales but will do all we can to connect potential purchasers with artists. It follows that we do not charge a commission. (Any profits over and above costs will be donated to a charity of Peter Cobbin’s choosing. Donations?)
Opening Event Readings
We will also invite selected contributors from the anthology to read their work at a live event to be held in October 2023. If there are more writers than can be accommodated in the anthology, other writers may be invited to read their submissions at a second literary reading event during the six-week run of the Exhibition.)
